Harmeet K. Dhillon has long been a political activist in the Bay Area and has held leadership positions in numerous civic, political and public service organizations.
A first generation immigrant born in India, Harmeet gew up in rural North Carolina and attended college at Dartmouth, where she developed her passion for public policy while working at The Dartmouth Review newspaper, of which she ultimately became Editor in Chief. After a brief journalism career in Washington, D.C., Harmeet attended law school at the University of Virginia, clerked for a federal appeals court judge, worked at some of the top international law firms in the world, and in 2006 founded her own practice in San Francisco, Dhillon & Smith LLP, which focuses on representing businesses, entrepreneurs and civil rights plaintiffs.
A strong fiscal conservative, Harmeet believes equally strongly in individual privacy and responsibility with a minimum of government regulation. During her time on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Northern California after 9/11, and through her firm’s legal representation of unionized workers at the progressive Berkeley radio station KPFA, Harmeet proved that she is not swayed by partisan politics when tackling critical issues involving due process and individual liberties. Harmeet Dhillon is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what is best for California. California needs Harmeet's fresh vision, common sense business experience, and award-winning passion for justice. Read more about Harmeet here. |
